EVU on the Internet

from EVU News, Issue 4/1998 and 1/1999

As you will be aware of, EVU is represented with a site in the Internet. IVU Webmaster John Davis brought it to birth and has looked after it tenderly over the years. Now that times require a clearer distinction from the IVU offer, I took over responsibility for the EVU pages from John. The result is a design that on one hand continues the well appreciated plus points of the site, but on the other hand provides a new appearance that gives it a bit of a fresh look. Everyone is invited to see the results at the well-known address http://ivu.org/evu

Although vegetarians seem to be among the most active members of the Internet Community, many vegetarian organisations still don't appear online. EVU is now offering all member societies free web space to make their information accessible worldwide. If you are interested in taking up this opportunity, please contact me. It would be preferable if you would have someone who is able to design and maintain the webpage for you. If this is not the case, I would be ready to help you design a simple introduction page online which would contain basic information about your organisation. The Internet is a growing forum for information exchange, which we should all take advantage of.

Thank you!!

A special "thank you" goes to John Davis, webmaster of the IVU and Renato Pichler, deputy secretary of the EVU, president of the Swiss Union for Vegetarianism, for their constant work and contribution during the past 3 ½ years. Without their help the websites would not have been possible!
