[IMAGE: Urs and Sheila Hochstrasser] EVU's member Gisela Tigges is looking back to a seminar on raw food with Sheila and Urs Hochstrasser (Switzerland) in Sonnenhaus /Germany.

Most impressive, full of fantasy, unforgettable and very tasty, Urs Hochstrasser who runs a School of life in Switzerland, presented raw power food to the participants for a whole week!

Every day all participants of the seminar in Sonnenhaus (House of Sun) were curious and surprised to see how Urs Hochstrasser succeeded in filling all of us with enthusiasm for living food without heating it in any way. In the morning we could try wheat grass juice, almond drink and a rich fruit buffet.

[IMAGE: Urs while serving] Lunch and dinner were a demonstration of gourmet rawfood cuisine: Essen bread, kohlrabi or red beet spaghetti, pumpkin soup, farmer salad, vegan mayonnaise, almond and nut cakes and many more of the 130 recipes which Urs Hochstrasser published in his book "Rawfood the living food" ("Rohkost die lebendige Nahrung"). From Urs we learned a sophis ticated technique of how to cut, slice or garnish the dishes; he has got a long experience as chef in 5 star hotels around the world.

With this knowledge a banquet for any kind of celebration or party will be a success and can satisfy even the most demanding gourmet. Urs Hochstrasser has published two books: "Kinderernährung - lebendig und schmackhaft", ISBN 3-929475- 09-X ("Living and tasty nutrition for children") and "Rohkost die lebendige Nahrung", ISBN 3-905158 11-6 ("Rawfood the living food").
